The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, accompanied by his close collaborators, received a delegation from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Cameroon, led by H.E. Christian SEDA, on Friday, February 27, 2026.
This meeting, was a forum for the first contact with the new German diplomat, as well as part of the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the forestry and wildlife sub-sectors. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations through concrete projects for forest management and biodiversity conservation.
During the meeting, which was more of a working session, His Excellency the Ambassador first thanked the Minister for the warm welcome extended to his delegation. He then took the opportunity to review the cooperation between the two countries. A consensus emerged during the meeting on the need for support for future projects within the Forestry and Wildlife sub-sectors.
Discussions also addressed the challenges facing cooperation since 2025, particularly those related to the effective implementation of COMIFAC. All of these issues require enhanced consultation and support to ensure a successful transition and maintain the momentum of regional cooperation.
Minister Jules Doret NDONGO, on his part, suggested to the Ambassador that he prioritizes the selection bodies and organize videoconferences with each of them to gather their perspectives. He also considered establishing a new team to lead this process. At the end of the meeting, the Minister reassured his guests that his Ministry, which already maintains beneficial cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany, remains open to exchanges for better collaboration.
