In a private audience on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO, received a delegation from the NGO Cameroon Konnect, led by Mr. Carole MANGA.
The Australia-based NGO came to present to MINFOF its project to organize the Cameroon Economic and Trade Days in Australia, scheduled for August 2025. These open-door events will serve as a platform for promoting Made-in-Cameroon products, exploring business opportunities, and fostering economic, cultural, and sporting ties.
In the forestry sub-sector specifically, the NGO aims to mobilize stakeholders in the timber industry to establish commercial partnerships and promote underutilized forest species. The event will also offer Cameroon an opportunity to showcase its reforestation expertise to Australia—a country with limited forest resources and, by extension, timber—and a new player on Cameroon’s diplomatic landscape.
During the meeting, the Minister praised this initiative, led by a member of the Cameroonian diaspora, for its contribution to enhancing the country's image and advancing national interests. He also assured the delegation of his commitment to mobilizing his team and key timber industry stakeholders to ensure active participation in the event.
