AUDIENCE GRANTED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE CHAMBER OF AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES, LIVESTOCK AND FORESTS

On May 2, 2025, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife received in audience the President of the Chamber of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Forests, in the conference room of his ministerial department. The meeting was attended by close collaborators of both the Minister and the President of this consular chamber. The CAPEF delegation presented the joint MINFOF/CAPEF project to organize the National Economic Exhibition of Actors in the Forestry and Wildlife Sub-Sector, known by its French acronym SENAFoF.

The aim of this audience was for CAPEF to request MINFOF’s support in securing sponsorship for the event, mobilizing other relevant government departments and technical and financial partners, facilitating administrative procedures, and mobilizing the necessary resources. The exhibition aims to contribute to the economic promotion of Cameroon’s forest and wildlife resources by enhancing value chains within the sub-sector, thereby supporting efforts to combat climate change, promote sustainable biodiversity management, and reinforce the country’s import-substitution policy.

The Minister welcomed this initiative — the first of its kind in the forestry and wildlife sub-sector — which, in the long run, will enhance the visibility of both CAPEF and the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife. He assured the CAPEF delegation of MINFOF’s full support, which they can already count on, and expressed the hope that such an event could become a biennial gathering.
