It was in a festive atmosphere that the entire female staff of MINFOF gathered at 20th May Boulevard, to take part in the parade to mark the 40th edition of the International Women's Day, under the theme “For all women and girls: rights, equality and empowerment”.

Days prior to the celebration, a host of post-celebration activities were carried out by the women of MINFOF; they joined those from other ministries for a sports walk presided by Minister Marie Thérèse ABENA ONDOUA of the Promotion of Women and the Family, on Saturday March 1.

On Monday March 3, screening sessions for diseases such as Hepatitis B, HIV and Syphilis were carried out on the courtyard of the ministerial building n°2, followed by a training workshop on soap and bleach production. In the same vein, a trade fair and gastronomy exhibition as well as cardiovascular tests took place at the Yaoundé Military Hospital.

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife rightly honored his collaborators with a reception on Saturday March 08, just after the march past at the Mvog-betsi woo-botanic garden.

The reception was an opportunity for the women of MINFOF to give their Minister a standing ovation, while Madame EREM Delphine épse IKOME, MINFOF's Technical Advisor N2 and representative of the women, challenged the women to think deeply about the role of women in the society.

Minister Jules Doret NDONGO then paid a glowing tribute to all the women of the ministry, reiterating his admiration and calling on them to make equality visible and perceptible.

The mood was upbeat, as the brave ladies of MINFOF jubilated with the famous musician OTTOU Marcelin, comedian Kaiser Show and the Queen of the Pygmies.
