On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO, received a courtesy visit from His Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Cameroon, Mr. Volkan OSKIPER.
During their discussions, the new Turkish Ambassador began by thanking the Minister for the warm welcome extended to him. He then highlighted the main purpose of his visit: strengthening the existing cooperation between Cameroon and Turkey in the forestry and wildlife sub-sectors.
The Ambassador also assured the Minister that he would facilitate the sharing of Turkey’s expertise in forestry and wildlife management, which could be particularly beneficial for the sustainable management of Cameroon's forests.
This visit also underscored the need to intensify relations between the two countries in order to effectively address on-the-ground challenges and provide concrete solutions in the forestry sector to further enhance cooperation.
The Ambassador and the Minister parted on a note of optimism and hope for a strengthened collaboration.
