On **February 24, 2025**, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife granted an audience to a high-level delegation from the **African Development Bank (AfDB)** on a working visit to Cameroon. For the occasion, the Minister was assisted by his close collaborators, while **Mr. Bilgo Ablassé**, Head of the Mission, was accompanied by AfDB country managers and representatives from the General Management team.

This meeting followed Cameroon’s selection for the financing of the **"Resilience of Coastal and Marine Communities and Ecosystems in the Gulf of Guinea"** project, with a budget of **USD 9,428,194**. The project aims to enhance the capacity of coastal and marine ecosystems, as well as local communities, to adapt to climate change, thereby strengthening their contribution to the socio-economic development of the targeted areas.

The project will cover several key sectors, including climate change, agriculture, food security and nutrition, water resilience management, water supply and sanitation, climate information management, and disaster risk reduction. Supported by MINFOF, the initiative ultimately seeks to ensure the **sustainable management of marine and aquatic biodiversity**, promote **community-driven initiatives to improve local livelihoods**, and strengthen community capacities, among other objectives.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife expressed his satisfaction with this initiative, emphasizing that its primary goal is the **well-being of the population**. He also reaffirmed his team’s full commitment to ensuring the project's successful implementation.
