The British High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Matt Woods, at MINFOF

The Conference Room 635 of the Ministerial building n° 2 was the setting for an audience granted by the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife to the High Commissioner of Great Britain to Cameroon on Wednesday February 13, 2025 at 2:30 pm.

On the agenda was cooperation between the two countries in the forestry and wildlife sub-sector. In this respect, the Minister, who was accompanied by some of his close collaborators, and the British delegation discussed aspects linked to Cameroon's participation in the 2025 Belém Conference on climate change; the financial pledge in favor of the countries of the Congo Basin; and projects that the British cooperation plans to set up in Cameroon, particularly the implementation of projects aimed at offering populations living near protected areas alternatives to the exploitation of protected resources.

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife used the opportunity to welcome the support of British cooperation in the implementation of the system of traceability and equality in the management of forestry information within the framework of SIGIF 2.
